at last!

So the extension has started.  18 months of planning and finally, it's started.  And it hasn't exactly started slowly. Anyway... before tell you about the first days of the build ... here are some 'before' photos:

 The front door, showing path behind the house and shrubs that were once there.

 The view of the back of the house from the garden.

 The side wall that the extension will be on.

The back garden, where we plan to get rid of some of the spoil to create a raised area which we will eventually deck. (Note the dove cote, a popular sleeping place for the cats!)

I think these photos have quite a green, lush vegetation feel about them...the next ones feature mainly mud!
